Sound of silence, Reflexion residency for a curatorial and artistic project
This artistic project, which aims to give trees their rightful place in a sensory and respectful approach to life, plans to produce sensitive portraits of trees.
The intimate
For Merleau-Ponty, it is the whole body open to the world and to others that holds artistic power. Science, on the other hand, ignores the primacy of perception and the fact that we are in the world with a body; perceptive knowledge is the primary knowledge. In his book Les penseurs de l’intime, Nicolas Truong shows that it is now an act of resistance to consider the sensible within the sciences in order to reflect on the world today.
Intimacy is questioned by philosophers such as François Jullien explo- ring the spaces «between». The sensitivity of the tree portraits and the intimacy between the visitor and the tree will be sought through sen- sory body experiences. The exhibition aims to go beyond the current ego-oriented perceptions to enter into a new approach, open to the eco; the human race is part of the ecosystem, it is neither separated from it nor installed above it.
